FAQS

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE FREE 15 MINUTE PHONE CONSULTATION?

This brief phone call allows us the opportunity to discuss what you are hoping to get out of your sessions and to determine if I am the right therapist for you. During this call, you will also have the opportunity to ask any further questions you may have about the services I offer. At the end of the consultation, we will decide together what the next steps will be and schedule your initial appointment if appropriate.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SESSION LENGTH?

Typically, sessions run 50 to 55 minutes. 60 minute sessions are standard for EMDR.

30 minute sessions may be available upon request, but to get the most out of your treatment, 50 to 55 minute sessions are recommended.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

At this time, I am in-network with CT Medicaid, Cigna/Evernorth Behavioral Health, Aetna, and Optum.

For all other insurance providers, I am considered to be out-of-network. If you are interested in using your out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a superbill to provide to your insurance company who may reimburse you for part of your out-of-pocket cost. I would encourage you to speak with your insurance provider regarding your out-of-network benefits to determine if this arrangement is feasible for you.

WHAT IF I CANNOT AFFORD YOUR FULL FEE?

Cost should not be a barrier to getting the treatment you deserve. For clients who are unable afford my full fee, I have a limited number of appointments available at a sliding scale rate. Sliding scale may be available on a case-by-case basis and is based on financial needs, income and availability.

DO YOU PROVIDE IN-PERSON OR ONLINE SERVICES?

I offer sessions in-person in Shelton, CT. I am careful to follow all Covid-19 protocol and thoroughly sanitize the office between sessions to mitigate risk of infection. I also offer sessions via telehealth. I am happy to provide a combination of both in-person and telehealth depending on what works best for your schedule.
